As a homeowner in Golden Valley for 24 years, I know this is a wonderful community in which to raise children and form life-long attachments. We enjoy excellent access to the broader region, beautiful parks and natural amenities, a range of housing type, and caring engaged neighbors.
Four years ago, I promised to work to make Golden Valley healthy: physically, socially and financially, and I delivered on that promise. Today, as we face economic challenges as a city, as families, and as a community, we need leadership, responsiveness, and informed decision making. I have these skills and have demonstrated them through my 24 years of service in the community.
- Listening to residents, I make decisions after careful consideration of issues. I value open government and supported having our meetings available as video streaming: ( http://www.nwsccc.org/golden_valley.aspx). It is important for residents to see for themselves how decisions are being made in our community.
- Financially, I have acted as a good steward of the taxes we raised.
- Socially, I support Bridge Building activities, Golden Valley Foundation events, and the terrific Golden Valley Days. I value volunteer hours spent to make these activities possible.
- Physically, I have supported and participated in long-term planning for the I-394 Corridor. Now, the City is focused on the Douglas Drive Corridor. Both of these efforts rely on public input.
I look forward to the conversations in the next weeks of the campaign and I welcome your insights, comments, or suggestions. Please tell me your ideas for reducing taxes, improving the environment and any other concerns you'd like to share.
I ask for your support this fall in my election to city council.
